How to write a handmade listing that feels like you

A useful listing starts with the object, then helps a buyer understand its place in everyday life.

Start with something specific

Name the product, material, and most useful distinguishing detail. “A hand-thrown stoneware mug with a wide handle” tells a buyer more than “the perfect unique gift.”

Separate facts from atmosphere

List the dimensions, materials, and care instructions you have verified. You can describe a cozy morning, but do not invent a burn time, certification, or performance claim.

Make the next step easy

Finish with the available options, what arrives in the parcel, and any information the buyer needs to choose. Read the finished text aloud and remove phrases you would never say.

Put it into practice.

Bring your own details and try a tool from the workbench.
